What a year!
Early in 2019, I was fortunate enough to play Bertie in The Convent by Jessica Dickey, directed by Daniel Talbott off-Broadway with Rattlestick/Rising Phoenix Rep.
My play Walden was accepted to the Bay Street New Works Festival, the Great Plains Theatre Conference, was the Runner Up in the Premiere Play Festival and received a workshop at Premiere Stages, a Finalist for the Henley Rose Playwriting Competition for Women, and was an Honorable Mention for the Parity Commission. Walden will receive its first production with Flat Earth Theatre in June of 2020.
My play The New Galileos was a Finalist for the O’Neill National Playwrights Conference, received a reading with TRU New Voices, was a Semi-Finalist for the Mach-33 Science Driven Play Festival, received a reading at Caltech for Earth Week, and was nominated for the Cherry Lane Mentorship Project. Next year The New Galileos will receive productions at Contra Costa School of Performing Arts outside San Francisco and Caltech.
I was also fortunate enough to be commissioned by Rising Phoenix Rep to write a full length play for their historic Cino Nights series. My play The Whole of You was directed by Daniel Talbott at the Larry Edmunds Bookshop in May and will hopefully be returning in 2020!
My short play Winner was accepted to the Sam French Off-Off Broadway Festival and became one of 12 finalists, directed by Kevin R. Free. Another short play, He Killed You, was a part of Cino Nights’ Halloween edition in early November, directed by Lovell Holder.
My play Epiphany is a finalist for Shakespeare’s New Contemporaries at the American Shakespeare Center. Fingers crossed!
I was also lucky enough to be a part of a benefit reading of “Jane: Abortion and the Underground” starring Cynthia Nixon, directed by Julie Kline.
I am beyond grateful for all the opportunities I have had this year and can’t wait for 2020!
